What it is and what it does. Neutralizing salt is the buffering salt blend used to neutralise acid drag-out and to hold the pH of rinses and of mildly alkaline baths in the working range.
- White powder or granules; used to bring the pH of the rinse or of the cleaner into the required band.
- Neutralising acid carry-over protects the nickel and zinc baths from pH shocks and from chloride contamination.
- Also used to correct the pH of the phosphating and coloring baths after acid additions.
