Cold Painting
This is the comprehensive "Cold Spray & Color Infilling Workshop Masterplan".
Unlike "Hot Enamel" (which requires 800°C) or "Baking Paint" (150°C), Cold Spray / Cold Enamel technology relies on chemical curing (2K Systems) or air drying.
The Advantage: Energy saving, faster turnaround, and ability to paint heat-sensitive combinations (e.g., assembled zipper pullers with nylon inserts).
The Challenge: Since you don't use high heat to "flow" the paint, surface leveling and dust control are harder.
Here is the plan for a high-efficiency Cold Spray line using the [QLQ System].

Technique: 2K Acrylic Urethane / Epoxy "Cold Enamel".
Curing Method: Room Temp or Low Heat (40°C - 60°C).
Capacity: 5,000 - 10,000 units/day (High Mix, Low Volume).
Part I: Workshop Layout & Equipment
The "Cold" workshop is divided into two distinct lines: Spraying (Overall coating) and Infilling (Dispensing color into recessed logos).
1. The Spray Zone (Dust-Free Class 10,000)
Water Curtain Spray Booth: 2 Units. (Traps overspray).
Drying Tunnel (IR): Low temp (60°C). Conveyorized.
Air Supply: Positive pressure system is mandatory. Cold paint remains "tacky" (sticky) longer than hot paint, making it a magnet for dust.
2. The Infilling Zone (Color Filling)
Pneumatic Dispensing Machines: 4-6 Stations. (Pedal operated or Auto-Robot).
Syringe System: Fine needles for filling badge logos.
Leveling Table: Marble or Glass table (Must be perfectly flat).
Part II: Material Selection (QLQ System)

Part III: Process Workflow & SOP
Process A: Cold Spraying (Clear Coat / Matte Finish)
Used for protecting plated zipper pulls or giving a matte rubber look.
Prep: Solvent wipe with [QLQ] Pre-Clean to remove fingerprints.
Mixing:
Mix [QLQ] Cold Lacquer + Hardener.
Viscosity: 14-16 Seconds (Ford Cup #4). Thinner than hot paint.
Application:
Gun Pressure: 2.0 Bar.
Technique: "Wet-on-Wet". Two light coats.
Flash Off: Let sit for 10 mins.
Cure: 60°C for 45 mins OR Air Dry for 24 Hours.
Process B: Color Infilling (Badges & Logos)
Used for "Soft Enamel" look on badges.
Prep: Electroplated Badges must be dry and warm (30°C).
Dispensing:
Operator uses a pneumatic syringe.
Inject the [QLQ] Cold Enamel Paste into the recessed metal area.
Skill: Fill to the brim but do not overflow.
Debubbling: Rapid pass with a propane flame (Flame Polishing) to pop bubbles.
Cure: Oven at 40°C - 50°C for 2 Hours. Do not overheat or colors will darken.
Grinding (Optional): If a flat surface is needed, stone grind the surface and re-polish.
Part IV: The Cold Spray Master’s Daily Routine
08:00 | The "Viscosity" Setup
Cold paint thickens fast in the pot.
Rule: Mix small batches (500g max).
Action: Check Thinner evaporation. Cold paint needs Fast Thinner to prevent sagging.
10:00 | The "Dust" Patrol
Because we cure at low temps, the paint stays sticky for 20-30 minutes.
Action: Wet mop the floor. Ensure operators wear lint-free "Bunny Suits."
Check: Look at the "Tack Rag" used to wipe parts. If it's dirty, change it.
14:00 | The "Needle" Maintenance (Infilling)
Cold Enamel cures inside the syringe needles.
Action: Change dispensing needles every 2 hours or flush with Acetone. A clogged needle creates messy logos.
17:00 | System Flush
2K Cold products turn into solid plastic overnight.
Action: Spray guns must be stripped and soaked in solvent. No exceptions.
Part V: Troubleshooting (Common Cold Spray Defects)
