What it is and what it does. AB mixed water-based lacquer is the low-solvent clear coating used to protect plated hardware where the solvent emissions or the odour of a solvent lacquer are a problem.
- Milky white to pale blue emulsion, which dries to a clear film; the milky appearance is normal and is not a defect.
- Water-based, so the substrate must be completely dry before coating and the drying oven must remove the water.
- Used for parts where the workshop ventilation or the destination market restricts solvent emissions.
