What it is and what it does. Fatty alcohol ethoxylate AEO-9 is the non-ionic surfactant used as the emulsifier and wetting agent in cleaners, in wax removers and in lacquer formulations.
- White to pale yellow paste at room temperature, fluid when warm; the 9 denotes the ethylene oxide units.
- Excellent oil and wax emulsifier with good hard-water tolerance and ready biodegradability relative to nonylphenol products.
- A common substitute for OP-10 where nonylphenol ethoxylates are restricted.
