What it is and what it does. Sodium sulfate is the conductive salt and neutral filler used in plating baths, in cleaner formulations, in phosphating accelerator mixes and in effluent neutralisation.
- White, very soluble powder; inexpensive and chemically stable.
- Added to nickel and acid copper baths to raise conductivity, and used to accelerate phosphating.
- In effluent treatment it is a neutral salt and passes through the metal-removal stages.
