What it is and what it does. Paint remover is the stripping chemistry used to remove cured lacquer, paint and enamel from racks, jigs and rejected parts so that they can be recoated.
- Colourless to pale yellow gel or liquid; the thickened form clings to vertical surfaces, which is what makes it work on a rack.
- Used for stripping the coatings from the plating racks, which must be bare metal to make contact with the parts.
- Solvent-based, so it is flammable and needs ventilation and skin protection.
