What it is and what it does. Carbon plate (anode board) is the inert anode and current-distribution board used in chrome plating and in other processes where a soluble anode cannot be used.
- Black flat carbon plate, cut to the required size and thickness for the tank.
- In chrome plating the anodes are lead alloys, but carbon plates are used for auxiliary and current-distribution purposes and in some etching and electrolytic systems.
- Carbon is brittle, so it must be handled flat and supported properly in the tank.
