Chemicals
Chemicals groups every process in this section. The overview below shows all options side by side - click any card to open the full process page with working parameters, step-by-step procedure and QC checks.

How to choose
Part shape, batch size and the finish specification decide the route. Every page in this group lists working parameters and the checks that must pass before shipping. Ask QLQ engineering if your case sits between two options.
How to specify a chemical against a process, not a name
Two suppliers can both sell "brightener" and still produce different colour, levelling and stress. Always ask for the TDS with the operating window, the analytical method and the replenishment ratio, then verify with a Hull cell panel on your own bath.
What to check on every incoming lot
| Item | Check | Record |
|---|---|---|
| Brightener / additive | Batch number, appearance, specific gravity | Lot log with date received |
| Nickel sulphate | Assay, Co content, insolubles | COA filed against the batch |
| Acids and bases | Concentration by titration | Titration sheet per lot |
| Anodes | Purity, phosphorus content (Ni), length and hook fit | Photo of the anode bundle |
FAQ
Can we mix additives from two suppliers?
Not in the same bath without a trial. Different carrier systems can crash or produce stress cracks. Run a separate tank or switch completely.
How often should the bath be analysed?
Daily for temperature and pH, twice a week for metal and additive concentration in production lines, after every carbon treatment.
