What it is and what it does. Antique bronze colouring solution is the general-purpose antiquing chemistry that gives a brown-to-black aged finish to copper alloy hardware, and it is the standard way to produce the antique look on zipper sliders.
- Dark blue to violet clear liquid, used at room temperature in barrel or rack operation.
- The depth of colour is controlled by the immersion time and by the mechanical relief (tumbling or brushing) after the dip.
- The wiped-back highlights are what make an antique finish look genuine - the colour chemistry alone is only half the process.
