What it is and what it does. Steel degreasing liquid is a ready-to-use alkaline cleaning solution that removes drawing oils, stamping lubricants and shop soil from steel parts before pickling and plating.
- Pale yellow to amber clear liquid, water-based and alkaline; normally used at 5-10% in water.
- Formulated with surfactants, builders and a sequestrant so oils emulsify and rinse away.
- The tank is maintained by adding the concentrate against the free-alkalinity titration.
