What it is and what it does. Thinner is the solvent blend used to adjust the viscosity of lacquers and paints and to control the drying speed of the film on the parts.
- Colourless clear volatile liquid with a solvent odour; supplied as a blend suited to the lacquer system.
- The evaporation rate of the blend controls the flow and the levelling of the film: too fast gives orange peel, too slow gives runs and solvent retention.
- Must be stored as a flammable liquid, away from ignition sources.
