What it is and what it does. Paint hardener is the cross-linking component added to two-component paints and lacquers so that the film cures to a hard, chemically resistant finish.
- Colourless to pale yellow liquid; dosed at the exact ratio printed on the process sheet.
- The pot life of the mixed paint starts when the hardener is added, so mix only the quantity needed.
- A small error in the hardener ratio is one of the most common causes of a coating that never gets hard.
