What it is and what it does. Sodium lauryl ether sulfate (AES) is the anionic surfactant used as the foaming and emulsifying agent in liquid cleaners and degreasers, and as the wetting agent in some plating systems.
- Colourless to pale yellow paste (70%) or liquid (28%); the 70% paste is the standard export form.
- Better hard-water tolerance than sodium lauryl sulfate, which is why it is preferred in liquid cleaners.
- Strong foamer - use a low-foam blend for spray equipment.
